Fr. Valentine Young Memorial Mass February 28, 2009

Fr. Valentine Young died in Denver Feb. 6th. He was 86 and recently moved to Colorado after his community's Mid-America Province departed the St. Louis area.

A memorial Mass for Father Young will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28th at the Shrine of St. Joseph. Father Young's funeral Mass was held on Feb. 9th in Denver and will be buried in his hometown of Cumberland, MD. on Feb. 14th.

In 1984 Father Young was named spiritual administrator of the Shrine of St. Joseph. Members of the Friends of the Shrine of St. Joseph have credited him with being a key part of renovation efforts there.
